Wednesday, December 12, Polish farmers in the yellow jackets blocked one of the most important roads in Europe, extending from the border with Ukraine to Germany.
As reported by the Polish edition of RMF24, we are talking about the A2 highway, the fare for which was blocked by several cars that are installed across the road.
Thus, the protesters demanded an effective solution to the agrarian problems in the country, particularly those connected with the threat of African swine fever.
In addition, people seek to establish duties on goods from Ukraine, as well as compensation for lost because of animal diseases.
“From Ukraine to us it is possible to import products grown using banned chemical fertilizers. Required refer to all Polish and Ukrainian products”, — said the protesters.
They demanded the arrival of the Prime Minister at the protest and said it was ready to block the road indefinitely. The police, in turn, said that the actions of the “yellow jackets” are illegal.
In the second half of the day, the farmers agreed to unblock the road and handed over to the government their demands.
