The US President Donald trump said that the US withdraws from the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty) with Russia.
This writes the UE with reference to The Guardian.
Speaking to reporters after a campaign event in Nevada, trump said that Russia has violated the agreement.
“They violate her for many years, and I don’t know why President Obama wasn’t negotiating in and out (from the Treaty – ed)”.
“We are not going to allow them to violate the nuclear agreement and to make weapons, and we are not allowed. We are the ones who stayed in the agreement, and we execute the agreement, but Russia, unfortunately, has not fulfilled the agreement, so we’re going to terminate the contract, we’re going to leave.”
Answering clarifying question, trump said that the US “will have to develop this weapon.”
“Until Russia will not come to us, and China will not come to us, and they will not come to us and say, “Let us all smarter and let’s none of us will develop these weapons,” he said, adding that if Russia and China do that, the United States will join the agreement.
“But until someone breaks that agreement, we’re not the only one who does it”, – he stressed.
Yesterday, John Bolton, said that he will inform Moscow of the US withdrawal from the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range.
