Ukraine lately is flooded with counterfeit banknotes in circulation as a counterfeit hryvnia (mostly in denomination of 200 and 500 UAH) and the fake dollars, euros and British pounds.
According to financial expert Basil Nevmerzhitskiy, most of all, of course, fake Ukrainian currency.
“To forge banknotes of 5, 10, 20 and even 50 UAH makes no sense. Inflation and devaluation have done their job. I once asked in one supermarket, what their average bill per day. Was 780-800 UAH. Even if you look in the wallet to the person who pays the cashier at the store, you will find that most people with them are notes of 200, 500 UAH. Small little,” said nevmerzhytskiy.
