The National Bank predicts in 2019 stabilizing the number of labour migrants from Ukraine to 2018.
This was announced today during the information day said the Director of the Department of monetary policy of the NBU Serhiy Nikolaichuk.
He noted that remittances from migrant workers in 2019 will rise, but this will depend on the economic situation in those countries where work mainly Ukrainians.
“In fact, labour migration is anticipated that there will be a significant increase in the number of migrant workers. The number of people who will work abroad, we believe, will be at 2018” – said Nikolaichuk.
We will remind, the Deputy head of the NBU Dmitry Sologub said that one of the reasons for acceleration of inflation in 2017 is a notable wage growth caused by increased in the last period of labour migration, unfavorable for the Ukrainian economy. He stated this interview.
It is reported from his words that the employers in Ukraine have to raise salaries to its employees in order not to lose qualified personnel. The official noted that the increase in wages in the country is useful only if their growth is organic.
According to Sologub, the increase in wages should occur in line with productivity growth. If the employee continues with the same performance, and his employer increases wages, so he went to Poland, then it is wrong. In addition, wage growth has a negative impact on the value of the product.
