The European Commissioner for European neighbourhood policy and enlargement negotiations Johannes Hahn has said about the need for Ukraine’s reforms in a number of spheres: energy, economy and fight corruption.
He said this at a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman on Friday, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“There are some areas where there has been some regression in our cooperation with your side. I think our stance is clear. In the energy sector, we do not believe we can leave everything without changes,” Khan said.
According to him, Ukraine must continue the fight against corruption.
However, Khan thanked the parks and the government for the reforms, in particular, health, public service, decentralization and education.
“Was held not always popular things, in particular, with regard to raising tariffs for the population, which allowed us to reach an agreement with the IMF, paving the way for EU macro-financial assistance”, – added the Commissioner.
He also noted the achievements of Ukraine in the sphere of privatization.
Later on Twitter, Khan stressed the need for further reforms in Ukraine, in particular, the economy.
“He stressed that we should see more reforms in the economy, energy and the fight against corruption”, – added the Commissioner.
Also, earlier, on 23 Nov, Khan, commenting on the question whether the establishment of the EU trust Fund, said that the new investment plan for Ukraine inexpedient.
