Japanese companies are interested in participating in the construction of solar energy facilities in the Chernobyl exclusion zone with a capacity of up to 1.2 GW.

“General Director, Directorate of energy markets the energy Ministry Olga Bukovec held a meeting with representatives of Japanese companies, in particular, a Director of the company Deloitte Touche Japan, Nishimoto, Masatoshi, Executive Director of Green Power Development Japan Sekiya Amy and others who represent the government of Japan,” the statement reads.
The heads of the companies expressed their interest in participating in the construction of solar energy facilities in the amount of up to 1.2 GW in the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
During the meeting the sides discussed the main economic and technical aspects of the project construction of solar power plants.
Also, earlier it was reported that as a platform for renewable energy development in Chernobyl will serve the territory of the special industrial use where in the future I plan to place data centers.
