The first tranche of the International monetary Fund in the framework of the new cooperation program will be credited to the account of the state 10 days before Christmas, that is December 15.
This was stated by the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakov Smoliy in an interview with Reuters.
“Ukraine has fulfilled all the agreed requirements. It remains only bureaucratic procedures”, – said resin. He also added that the national Bank expect receipt of tranche “10 days before Christmas” that is 15 December 2018.
However, the head of the national Bank still declined to specify how much funds it plans to allocate the IMF the first tranche under a new cooperation program. He added, however, that his arrival will allow to increase Ukraine’s international reserves from 17.8 billion to 19.2 billion at the end of 2018.
The adoption of the budget for 2019 is a key requirement for IMF approval of new stand-by program for Ukraine and the release of the first tranche, the amount of which will be about $ 2 billion.
The decision of the IMF to continue cooperation announced after the government decision on raising gas prices for the population to 23% from 1 November 2019. The increase in gas prices for households to market levels is a key requirement of the International monetary Fund to continue cooperation with Ukraine.
Also, on November 29, on the official website of the IMF, citing its head Christine Lagarde was reported that the preparatory work before allocation of Ukraine loan tranche of IMF program stand-by will be completed before December 10, 2018. Then will convene a meeting of the Executive Board of the International monetary Fund to discuss the agreement.
