The analyst: an Introduction unilaterally a visa regime with Russia will give rise to dual citizenship

Политолог: Введение в одностороннем порядке визового режима с РФ породит двойное гражданство

The introduction of a visa regime in unilateral procedure with Ukraine would immediately lead to the situation that Ukrainian citizens who remain in the Russian Federation, will open the possibility, under the new Russian law, to obtain a simplified Russian citizenship.

Comments about this correspondent of ГолосUA said political analyst Alexei Yakubina.

“Pavlo Klimkin continued its old strategy. First, it is in some way playing the anti-Russian card. He says that Russia is, without a doubt, you need to tighten the visa regime, but somehow ignored the situation, he said that Russia is two-and-a-half to three and a half of our citizens and many of them work there. And in fact the introduction of Ukraine actually visa regime with the Russian Federation in the first place would be hit by Ukrainian citizens”, – said Alexei Yakubina.

According to him, the statement of Paul klimkina to be regarded as podygryvanii radical statements that sound from some politicians, that will undoubtedly have to sever diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation and to introduce a strict visa regime.

“And on the other hand Klimkin understands that the introduction of a visa regime in unilateral procedure with Ukraine would immediately lead to the situation that Ukrainian citizens who remain in the Russian Federation, will open the possibility, under the new Russian law, to obtain a simplified Russian citizenship. But it is not the fact that they will let the Ukraine received Russian citizenship. And may we generate a significant number of people who have at least dual citizenship,” – said the analyst.

According to Yakubina, President Petro Poroshenko likes to be proud of the “strength” of Ukrainian passports, but it can be reduced significantly. Because, as the analyst believes, the introduction of a unilateral visa regime with the Russian Federation will eventually lead to the fact that we ourselves complicate the visa situation even with Belarus, not only with the Russian Federation.

“Belarus and the Russian Federation as if are in a situation of the Union state, they have a common migration regime. Therefore making this statement Klimkin trying to play up to the radical forces on the one hand, and on the other that we have tightened entry regime for Russians, and probably should not be so drastically shoot from the hip. It’s like trying to remove partly criticism from radical forces, which sounds from far-right in the direction of the President,” he said.

And on the other hand, according to Yakubina, is an attempt in some way to play along with “the anti-Russian card”.

“Klimkin in parallel thereby trying to justify the situation with the decision of CEC about the fact that on the territory of the Russian Federation will not open polling stations, it was unsafe, we can’t provide security”, – concluded the analyst.

We will remind, earlier it was reported, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin does not exclude the introduction of biometric visa regime with the Russian Federation. According to him, filtering the citizens who followed in Ukraine, must always be. However, he noted that in the case of the introduction of the visa regime simply will not work.
