The annual Koktebel Jazz Festival, which was held earlier in the Crimea, and now in Chernomorsk, was visited by about 12 thousand spectators for four days. We collected seven facts that he remembered this year.
The 16th festival is back on the “Seagull”
The 16th Koktebel Jazz Festival took place in Chernomorsk. Recall, after the events of 2014 in the Crimea, he had to leave his native Koktebel and a donkey in the Odessa region. For the third year he was at the former recreation center “Chaika”. This year the artists performed on four different scenes, and the audience listened to them, sitting on the sand or swimming in the sea. The ticket for one day cost from 200 UAH.
Dorn had a striptease
Speeches of Ivan Dorn to the last was in question (the activists planned to disrupt him). But it was held, and the musician presented jazz variations of his most popular songs. The first in the hour show was a cover for the song Scriabin – “Dance pingvina” (on this day Andrei Kuzmenko would have turned 50). On stage, Dorn read his poems, actively jumped, climbed the stage constructions, and in the end even undressed.
Dakh Daughters showed cabaret and supported Sentsov
The female theatrical and musical group Dakh Daughters surprised everyone with theatrical performance and unexpected combination of Ukrainian motifs with the cabaret genre. During the show, participants who are better known abroad than in their home country, took to the stage with the Ukrainian flag, and on the screen behind the artist’s backs the inscription Save Oleg Sentsov was displayed.
Gifts for viewers for photos
In addition to the main concerts and educational programs, you could have fun in the territory, take photos and win bright summer prizes. Youth TV channel UFO TV has placed on the beach of the festival its photozone – the place of smiles and charged pictures. Day and night guests made unusual photographs here and received gifts from UFO TV for them. In addition, on the beach it was possible to answer quiz quizzes and get a “passport” of an EU resident.
