This would be an appropriate response
Russia should be banned from entering ports in the United States and the EU. That would be the best response to its aggression in the Kerch Strait.
The corresponding statement was made by the former US Ambassador to Ukraine and current Director of the Atlantic Council John Herbst, NEWSONE reports citing Radio Liberty.
“I think the best answer (to the aggression of Russia in the Kerch Strait. – Ed.) could be sanctions against the largest Russian Bank or a ban on Russian ships to enter American ports or the ports of the EU. And granting Ukraine weapons. That would be an adequate answer”, – he said.
Herbst added that in the next 2-3 months, Ukraine will receive weapons from the United States and Russia sanctions.
“After 2-3 months, we will see that the US provide weapons to Kiev and will announce new sanctions against Russia in connection with this aggression. I think that within the next eight to ten, maximum twelve weeks this will be a much stronger US response . And apart from sanctions, it would be military assistance to Ukraine”.
He assured that in Washington now enough arguments to provide anti-ship missiles and patrol boats and other military equipment.
