The military situation in Ukraine may be cancelled in case of de-escalate the situation and release the captured Russian sailors.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
“We will be happy to stop the martial law, when there will be a de-escalation of the situation”, — he stressed.
According to him, the main demand of Ukraine is the return of Russia captured sailors and free passage of vessels on the Kerch Strait.
“We definitely will take part in the meeting of the Normandy format at the level of political counselors, which we put an urgent question — the requirement to Russia to bring our military ships access to the Strait of Kerch”, — said the head of state.
Poroshenko has called the capture of the Ukrainian seamen of the Russian military in international waters as “a flagrant violation of international law, which may have further consequences.”
We will remind, on November 25, the Russian military opened fire on the Ukrainian courts at the outlet of the Kerch Strait for allegedly “being in the internal Russian waters”. The Russian Navy had captured three Ukrainian ship, 24 sailors, were captured.
