The bomb exploded near a shopping centre in the Philippines, two people were killed and over 20 were injured, according to local newspaper Mindanao Examiner.
According to the newspaper, the bomb was planted on a motorcycle parked near a shopping center South Seas Mall in Cotabato on Mindanao island. At the Mall, people gathered to buy gifts to celebrate the New year,reports RIA Novosti.
While no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion. Mayor Frances Cynthia Sayadi called the explosion a terrorist attack. In may 2017 the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte imposed martial law in the southern province of Mindanao after clashes with army support ISIS* group “the Mouth”.
The main place of the fighting was the city of Marawi. In fighting with Islamist governmental forces of the Philippines lost more than 160 military, more than 1.7 thousand were injured, destroyed more than 800 fighters.
