There are two bills
Deputies have prepared two bills, one of which is aimed at the settlement of the question of the names of the churches in Ukraine and the second to define the rules of transition of communities from one Church to another.
This was at a meeting of the conciliatory Council on Monday, 17 December, said the Deputy from BPP Alexey Goncharenko, according to Espresso.
According to him there are two bills (No. 5309 and No. 5309/P) for the names of churches, which stated that they must be named in accordance with its religious center.
“I would like to address on behalf of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko to ask the head of the Verkhovna Rada, all my colleagues to work out two bills. One – the names of the churches in Ukraine, which will provide that the Church will be called as it should be called, according to its center. And the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is one – the Orthodox Church of Ukraine”, – he said.
In addition, Goncharenko also calls for consideration of the transition of communities to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
“Second – that we need to pass a law to regulate the issue of the transition of communities to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, including the protection of property, whatever chaos and abuse we saw that it was legally dealt with,” he said.
In turn, the speaker Andriy Parubiy said that if the parliamentary Committee approves this question on a Wednesday, Thursday, December 20, the Parliament will consider these bills.
Recall, 15 December, Kyiv hosted the unity Council, which was established the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Its head was elected the Metropolitan of Pereiaslav and Belotserkovsky Epiphanius (Dumenko).
From the UOC-MP in the Cathedral was attended by two of Metropolitan Alexander (drabinko) and Simeon. In the Church said that they now have no relationship to Patriarchy.
