The ship Open Arms, on Board of which are rescued off the coast of Libya 311 migrants has docked in the Spanish port Krenawi (San Roque, Autonomous community Andalusia).
Footage of the ship’s arrival was broadcast on the TV channel 24 Horas,reports RIA Novosti.
A week ago, activists of the Spanish humanitarian organization Proactiva Open Arms, which owns the ship, had taken aboard the migrants from three boats travelling from Libya to Europe. They sailed from the Libyan coastal city of HOMS.
Among migrants – citizens of various African countries, including Mali, Somalia, Sudan, côte d’ivoire.
The ship, walking under the Spanish flag, asked for the next country — Libya, Italy, Malta, France, Tunisia on providing a safe port. All these countries refused, however, Malta on 22 December sent a helicopter, which was evacuated a child who just a few days, and his mother.
In the end, the Spanish authorities agreed to accept the ship in the port municipality of San Roque, located near the town of Algeciras, the road to which took several days.
