Today, 3 December, in Katowice, in southern Poland starts the UN climate summit. The meeting will be attended by 200 delegates from more than 60 countries in the world.

The summit will be opened by the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, and UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres. The main purpose of the conference, which runs until December 14, is the preparation of principles of enforcement of the Paris climate deal, approved 2015.
“In the coming days the participants will work in groups and discuss various topics. In particular, the problem of limiting harmful gas emissions, Finance adaptation to climate change – more than 20 themes. I hope that by the end of the conference all agreed will be a document – a kind of textbook-specific operationalization of the Paris climate agreement,” said Minister of environment of Poland Henryk Kowalczyk.
Recall that at the climate conference in Paris in 2015, nearly 200 countries have adopted the first ever General world agreement on climate. States pledged to make efforts to keep global warming at a level that is significantly below two degrees Celsius.
