During the performance in Florida the perpetrator of the famous circus Cirque du Soleil died. The artist fell from a height during a show in Tampa on Saturday evening.
The group Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group stated that during the “Volta” number Yann Arnaud was defeated to death. He was tried to help on the spot and taken to the hospital, but there he later died.
“The entire Cirque du Soleil family is shocked and devastated by this tragedy,” said Daniel Lamarr, president and chief executive officer of the company. “Yann has been with us for more than 15 years, he was loved by all who had the opportunity to know him.”
The circus cooperates with the authorities in the investigation of the tragedy. The two final shows in Tampa have been canceled. The artist’s family will receive compensation.
This is not the first tragedy that struck one of the performers Cirque du Soleil. In June 2013, 31-year-old acrobat Sarah Gillo-Gior died after falling during a show at the casino in Las Vegas.
