If Poroshenko will remain Ukrainian President for a second term, he will continue to develop the theme of religious conflict within and outside the country.
This opinion in comments, ГолосUA was expressed by the Director of analytical Agency “Third sector” Andrei Zolotarev.
According to analysts, Poroshenko will continue to change the discipline of the churches in Ukraine, starting to do it with Andreevskoy Church.
“This trend will intensify. Unfortunately, the flywheel is started and stop it can only do that if the Ukrainians break imposed by Poroshenko trend in the discussion of religious questions, give him a severe rating for collapse of the economy, for the social disaster, mass migration of population from the country, for the unresolved conflict in the East of Ukraine… for he will repay, that is, remove Poroshenko on stage,” says the analyst.
According to A. Zolotareva, P. Poroshenko is able, using the powers of government officials, to create a large-scale conflict on religious grounds. And his idea of the transfer of St. Andrew’s Church to the Ecumenical Patriarchate only proves that he will stop destroying religious traditions.
“If Poroshenko will remain out of work, at least it will give a slight hope that the fault lines will be able to cement. If Poroshenko will remain as President, if given the opportunity, we must understand that everything it touches Poroshenko turns into a brown substance, and, alas, not chocolate”, – concluded the expert.
Recall that on 16 October it was reported that the President’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko said that in the coming days, Petro Poroshenko will register the bill, which proposes to transfer for permanent use to the Ecumenical Patriarch of St. Andrew’s Church. She announced this during the conciliatory Council of Parliament on Tuesday.
According to her, the President supports the desire to obtain an early Thomas in a sign of solidarity with that process makes a symbolic gesture. “Will be registered the bill, which President Poroshenko proposes to transfer St. Andrew’s Church for permanent use to the Ecumenical Patriarch, a symbolic gesture that the Holy Andrew in his time baptized Ukraine. It will be a symbolic gesture of unity with Mother-Church,” – said Lutsenko.
She added that Poroshenko asked the Parliament and all parliamentary parties to support this bill on the transfer of permanent use of the St. Andrew’s Church to the Ecumenical Patriarch. Now in the Church are services of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
