The Primate of the UOC KP, which today was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, in 2012, opposed autocephaly from the hands of Patriarch Bartholomew. It was called “slavery” Ukraine’s dependence on Constantinople.

This was reported by the Country.

“When Moscow became the Ecumenical Patriarch is very pressure, but our President Victor Yushchenko has insisted that the Patriarch of Constantinople recognized the Kyiv Patriarchate, the Ecumenical Patriarch offered us a model that we are absolutely not happy – said Filaret in 2012 at a press conference in Chernivtsi.

According to him, this model was intended to be part of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, and then to obtain recognition of its membership – as it happened now, when the efforts of Petro Poroshenko, was created entirely under the control of Bartholomew ptsu.

“Tell me, do we need this recognition? If we wanted to remain slaves, we would have been slaves and Moscow. And we have one bondage offered to replace another slavery. We don’t need slavery. We want to be the Church. And therefore, this proposal of Constantinople we have rejected,” – said the Primate of the UOC-KP.
