The delay in the release of the next book from George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Ice and Flame”, which is the basis of the “Game of Thrones” series, has caused a wave of criticism from angry admirers.
Fans have already waited seven years for the publication of “Winds of Winter”, which should be the penultimate in the saga, which the author started back in 1996. And in 2018 the book does not appear – its release was again postponed. In a press release from the outgoing part of “Fire and Blood” about the history of the Targarienes, Martin wrote that “in 2018, winter will not come, we will have to wait”.
Fans of the series were tired of waiting, so they reacted rather sharply to the author’s statement. Some doubt that he will finish the story altogether, because after the “Winds of Winter” another final book should be published.
The series has largely retreated from the plot of books, so its basis is now – only the motifs of “The Song of Ice and Flame”. For this reason, the fans are waiting for the originally conceived continuation of the Stark, Lanister and Targarien story.
