Everything should be on paper: how Johnny Depp enriched his lawyer
Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, who recently told his truth about the divorce from Amber Hurd, for his career earned a reputation as a rowdy, a drunkard and a constant guest of ships.

Now the actor is going through not the best financial times, but it seems that Depp has found a way to enrich himself. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Johnny Depp won the case against his own lawyer Jake Bloom, which stretched from the fall of 2017. The actor’s statement said that his lawyer should return to him all the payments made since the beginning of their cooperation. For 18 years of work on Depp, this amount exceeded several million dollars.

According to the actor, the reason for going to court is that he and Jake Bloom did not conclude any written agreement, but only an oral one. And although in Hollywood it’s a common practice, Johnny Depp still decided to try his fortune and sue the lawyer for his earned money.

It is worth noting that the chances of winning the actor in the court case were meager, since his lawyer received a payment for the work done. However, Judge Terry Green unexpectedly decided to set a precedent in legal practice.

“I do not think that there are separate rules for show business, I think we should create a precedent that will forever change this custom.” All transactions must be written in order to avoid cases like what we are considering now, “he said. Terry Green.
According to the court order, Jake Bloom must pay Johnny Depp a rather large sum. The publication does not yet have information on how much the ex-lawyer owes exactly.

Recall, the actor will be suing the British tabloid The Sun, who accused him of beating Amber Hurd and walked on to Joan Rowling, who supported the casting of Depp in the sequel to “Fantastic Beasts.”
