The creator of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, Joss Wheden, is preparing a reboot of the once popular series about fearless young heroes fighting with the eerie supernatural powers of the lower world.
Whedon will again gather the team together Monica Owusu-Breen, his co-executive producer for “Agency Sh.I.T.” It is planned that the role of Buffy, who then played twenty-year-old Sarah Michelle Gellar (Sarah Michelle Gellar), will get a black actress, according to “Variety”. Owusu-Brin will become the new director and lead screenwriter.
Last year, Whedon, it seems, reluctantly went to the resurrection of the series.
“I see some monkeying in these endless reboots,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “When you return something, even something very good, you can not always repeat your past success.”
The reactions of the fans were mixed. Many were delighted, while others are convinced that no one dares to compete with the achieved limit of perfection. Still others suggested creating a new original character, rather than repeating old stories.
