Belarus advocated the limitation of broadcasting of Russian channels

The opposition party “Belarusian popular front” (BNF) called for the authorities to restrict the broadcast of Russian TV channels and replace them with programs of own production, and citizens of Belarus use the Belarusian language and to improve it. This was reported on the website of a political party.

As noted in the message of the party, a considerable part of Belarusians do not use the Belarusian language, mainly watches Russian channels and lives in the “Russian language space”. Members of the BPF called on to replace the Russian programs local programs or a balanced mix of foreign programs,reports RBC.”We demand from Belarusian authorities to restrict the broadcast of Russian TV channels, inciting ethnic hatred and, in essence, is a means of waging information war against our country”, — stated in the message of the party.The BPF also urged the authorities to enact legislation in the Belarusian language, and the business — use Belarusian in advertising campaigns and communications with customers.At the end of October the Minister of information of Belarus Alexander Karlyukevich said that the country has two official languages — Belarusian and Russian, and every man must make a choice what language to speak.
