Archeologists near Cairo, Egypt, found eight limestone sarcophagi with mummies.
The Ministry of antiquities said that mummy come from the late period (664-332. to B. E.) and covered with a layer of colored material called cartonnage, in the form of man, – informs edition the Independent.
Only three mummies found preserved in good condition, explained Dr. Mustafa Vaziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of antiquities of Egypt.
Dr. Vasari said that the photos of the mummies will be exhibited at the exhibitions in the museums of Hurghada and Sharm-El-Sheikh.
The Ministry said that the mummies were found near the pyramid of king Amenemhat II in the Royal necropolis Dashur, which was the burial place of courtiers and dignitaries.
