Since 2012, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Russia fell by more than 20 times – from $ 2.1 billion to less than $ 100 million.

“The introduction of Russia’s embargo on agricultural products will have a minimal effect on Ukraine, since the decrease in the volume of export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Russia began in 2012. Exports declined from $2.1 billion in 2011 to $116,6 million in 2017”, – stated in the message.
According to the Ministry, decrease in the volume of exports to Russia continued in 2018 and in January-October 2018 the supply of agricultural products totaled $92.6 million, the Share of Russia in total exports of the agricultural sector decreased from 11.5% in 2012 to 0.65% in 2017.
In addition, through diversification of markets and the commodity nomenclature there was an increase in total Ukrainian exports. “In the sanctions list included 17 headings agricultural and food products, among them the main agricultural commodities some supply of which Ukraine continued to carry out in Russia, there was only wine and non-frozen vegetables,” – said the Ministry. The Ministry pointed out, citing data from the state statistics service, the total amount exported during January-October 2018 to Russia of Ukrainian goods, the import of which is now prohibited based on the decree of the RF government of December 29, 2018 No. 1716-83, totaled $28.3 million, or 30.6% of the total exports of agricultural products in Russia.
