In calling the meeting of the Prosecutor General’s office with law enforcement agencies on combating desertion and evasion of military service, Yuri Lutsenko is trying to restore its credibility in the eyes of Poroshenko after the end of martial law.

This opinion in comments to the correspondent of ГолосUA said political analyst Alexei Yakubina.

“In this case we are dealing with the consequences of martial law, the results of which were classified by the Ministry of defence. Therefore, it is possible that in calling the meeting on the issues of desertion and evasion of military service, Lutsenko is trying to remind about themselves in terms of warming relations between Poroshenko and Groisman,” – said the analyst.

Also, according to A. Yakubina, we can not exclude the fact that here is the aspect associated with future elections in the country. Thus, Lutsenko is trying to help Poroshenko to achieve a low turnout.

“At the moment in the country there are many military service citizens who can participate in the elections. But at the same time, refuse to participate in the call. So perhaps Lutsenko tries to intimidate them and to refuse participation in elections”, – said the expert.

As explained by the scientist, than the power is not more popular, especially her best low voter turnout. So in such conditions it is easier to influence their results.

“Thus, Lutsenko tries to demonstrate the necessity for the President. Because, in the conditions when Poroshenko of Ukraine improved their relationship, figure Lutsenko became less important. After all, before the imposition of martial law Lutsenko has positioned itself against him that talked about the fact that this can cause image blow to the President,” – summed up A. Yakubina.

We will remind, today, on January 11th, the media became aware that the General Prosecutor’s office plans to conduct coordination meetings with law enforcement at which, among other things, to discuss the question of desertion and evasion of military service.
