The collective image of Ukrainian voters
The CEC has published data on the number of voters in Ukraine. Their right to choose the President or the MP can be used almost 35.6 million people.
“Today” was a collective portrait of the Ukrainian voters.
The decline and growth
Only those who can vote in Ukraine, 35.6 million people. If we compare these figures with previous elections 2014, the total number of voters has decreased. For example, in 2014 they were of 36.4 million, and in 2010 was 36.9. But as a percentage of the population, the number of voters has increased. In the same 2010 in Ukraine, according to the state statistics service, lived 45.9 million, and in 2014-m — 45,4. Thus, of the total number of Ukrainians could vote 80% and now 84%. As can be seen from the exemplary calculations (see infographic), based on data of the state statistics and registry of voters, most of the current electorate — townswoman at the age of just 40.
Despite the official data, the head of the Service managing the state register of voters Alexander Stelmakh said that the numbers are a bit different. According to him, the total number necessary to take the voters of Crimea and occupied territories of Donbass. Total is more than 5.5 million people, and areas should expect slightly more than 30 million people. These data, according to people’s Deputy and head of the accounting chamber of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Chernenko, the most accurate:
Database “register of voters today, the most accurate of all the electronic registers of citizens. It renews monthly, and during the electoral period more often. There is another problem — many voters today are removed from registration and just “hang.” Someone is hiding from conscription, who “discharged” intentionally, to other members of the family could get a subsidy. Such voters remain in the registry, but will automatically lose the election address”.
“In reality, voters — 20-25 million”
Ukrainian analyst, Institute for the future Igor Tyshkevich said that actually the number of voters may be even less. From the 30 million that are left after subtracting voters from the annexed Crimea temporarily occupied territories of Donbass, you need to consider those who during the voting will be in Russia, as well as migrants who left today in Europe.
“With all of the data submitted to Eurostat, the Polish statistics and other data, according to our calculations, the actual number of voters should be 24 million 760 thousand people”, — the expert believes.
His assessment agree with the political scientist Ruslan Bortnik:
“Considering working abroad, children and the population of the occupied territories we have 20 to 25 million voters. These figures base their forecasts and the headquarters of the main political forces.”
