The global energy system of mankind is moving towards the advantages of electricity over other types of energy, but despite that 1 billion people on earth do not have access to electricity.
This was stated by Executive Director of International energy Agency Fatih Birol, speaking on the panel “Strategic review of energy” in the framework of the Davos economic forum, UKRINFORM reported.
“One billion people on Earth still do not have access to electricity. Africa still do not have electricity, what a shame. Not so long ago was negative and stats in India, but leadership failed and quickly to resolve this issue and provide access to electricity for hundreds of millions of people,” said Fatih Birol in his speech at the forum in Davos.
According to experts, the world’s energy future lies in the development, environmental production and energy efficiency in mind.
“And you believe that electricity is the undisputed future of the global energy system for many years in the future. Undoubtedly, we need gas, oil, as well as coal, renewable energy sources and others. But while the world is moving towards electric power”, – said the Executive Director of the International energy Agency.
While Birol called for a shift to energy production ecological methods, jump on them despite the high cost. In his opinion, the biggest problem that affect climate change on Earth, are powerful plant running on coal.
Recall that in accordance with the law “On electricity market”, January 1, 2019 energy services to customers in the Ukraine will have two different companies – the distribution system operator and supplier of electricity.
