The US special envoy on Ukraine Kurt Volker, along with the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation expressed a desire to hold a meeting in the coming weeks.
About this the diplomat said during a telephone news briefing in Brussels, reports UNN on Thursday, November 8th.
“Mr. Surkov and I both expressed a desire to meet over the next few weeks. We have no fixed date, but I think that we will be able to choose the date convenient for both of us,” said Walker.
We will remind, in August the Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov promised that Volker and woodchucks will meet again “in the foreseeable future.”
Only Walker and Surkov held four meetings. The last took place on 26 January in Dubai. On its results the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation stated that the new version of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas looks feasible. According to him, Moscow will carefully study the proposals of Washington and in a timely manner will give the answer.
For his part, Walker believes that dialogue with Russia in Donbass is very important, because this country “plays a key role in this conflict.”
