The participant of the Olympic games-2018 19-year-old Ukrainian skeletons Vladislav Geraskevich won two medals on the first competition in the new season 18/19.
The first representative of Ukraine in skeleton at the Olympic games Vladislav Geraskevich successfully performed on the stage of the Cup of North America, which was held in Whistler (Canada), reports xsport.ua.
On the first day of the competition, which took place on the track of the 2010 Games, Geraskevich won the silver award. His total time of two attempts was 1:46.31 (+0.10) minutes.
The next day the Ukrainian improved his time and confidently took first place with a time of 1:46.04 minutes. In addition, Geraskevich set a new personal speed record – 143,6 km/h.
Note that a gold medal at the world Cup event in North America is the first victory for the Ukrainian skeleton in history.
According to Geraskevich, performances at the competitions in Whistler are required to obtain the necessary experience before the world Cup 2019, which will be held from 25 February to 10 March on the same route.
Then Vladislav Geraskevich plans to perform at the world Cup-18/19, the first of which will be held in Sigulda (Latvia) from 3 to 9 December.
