“This move is a waste of US from our human rights obligations,” said the Ambassador.
Diplomats said that US withdrawal can support countries like Cuba, Russia, Egypt and Pakistan, who oppose what they consider U.S. interference in sovereign issues.
Also, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the decision of the United States of America for their exit from the UN Council on human rights. He stated this in his Twitter.
On behalf of Israel he thanked the President of the United States Donald trump, Secretary Mike Pompeo and US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley for their “courageous decision against the hypocrisy and lies of the so-called UN Council on human rights”.
“Israel welcomes the us statement,” he wrote.
Later UN Secretary-General, antónio Guterres commented on the US withdrawal from the UN Council on human rights. This is stated in the statement published on the organization page.
“The Secretary-General would prefer that the United States remained in the Council on human rights,” – said in a statement issued on Tuesday evening.
Also, recall that on 12 October last year, Netanyahu instructed the Ministry of foreign Affairs to start preparations for the withdrawal from UNESCO (United Nations agencies on issues of science and culture.) after the US announced the withdrawal from the organization.
According to the statement, Netanyahu called the U.S. decision to withdraw from the UNESCO’s “brave and moral” step, because UNESCO has become a theater of the absurd, and instead of saving the history, it distorts it”.
