In 2018 Ukrainian meat processing enterprises began to cut production of fresh, chilled and frozen pork.
This was reported by analysts of the Association “the Pig producers of Ukraine” (ACS), citing official statistics.
“In the first 10 months of 2018 industrial swanksalot implemented to the slaughter of 3.8 million pigs total live weight 403,6 thousand tons against of 4.04 million head live weight 420,4 thousand tonnes in 2017”, – noted experts.
They stressed that due to the reduction in the number of raw materials, and decreased refining volumes in January-October this year production of fresh and chilled pork amounted to 199 thousand tons. “This is 1.6% less than the amount of production of this type of meat over the same period in 2017,” – said in
So, according to analysts, processors offset the decrease in domestic supply of imported chilled and frozen raw pork. For 11 months of 2018 Ukraine has delivered 23.4 thousand tons of this product.
“Although the current volume of imports higher than last year, pork supply from abroad is just over one tenth of the results of the work of the meat industry for a specified period”, – is spoken in the message.
The production of dried, salted and smoked pig meat in Ukraine has also decreased. For 10 months of the 2018 year, Ukraine imported 7.1 thousand tons of this product, against 9.2 thsd tonnes in the same period of 2017.
We will remind, at the end of 2017 Ukraine, despite the growth of pork exports in monetary terms, imported more meat than it sold overseas. This is with reference to data of GFS reported in the Association “the Pig producers of Ukraine”.
