Became known, the text was on 20 September of resolution No. 9107 representatives and leader of “Radical party” on the transfer of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel from tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
About it reports “112 Ukraine”.
It is proposed that the preamble thus:
“Stressing the friendly intentions of Ukraine and other countries of the world
Condemning shameful statements by the Palestinian Ambassador to the Russian Federation on the recognition of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea part of the Russian Federation,
given the calls for the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu as Israel’s friend countries to move their diplomatic missions to Jerusalem,
Given that the State of Israel in 2018 celebrates 70 years of independence, and Jerusalem is the historical and cultural center of three religions with a huge number of sacred places for Muslims, Christians and Jews,
Noting the undisputed fact that Jerusalem is the territory of the state of Israel, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides…”
The Verkhovna Rada propose to recommend to the President and the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine to take appropriate measures for the transfer of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, and the government to allocate the money.
Chairman of the Radical party Oleg Lyashko at first announced such a move, and then implement it, explaining it as a response to the statement of the Ambassador of Palestine in Russia.
Recently the Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdul Hafiz Nofal in an interview with Russian newspaper “Izvestia” reported that Palestine can be recognized annexed Crimea a part of Russia. In this regard, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine called the Ambassador of Palestine in Ukraine to clarify the position in the question of supplies of Crimea.
Note that Israel considers all of Jerusalem its capital, while the Palestinians see East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state. The status of Jerusalem has long considered to be one of the biggest problems that need to be addressed at the conclusion of any Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement.
The embassies of almost all countries of the world in Israel are located in tel Aviv.
Also, recall that on 6 December last year the US President announced the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the beginning of preparations for the transfer of the us Embassy there from tel Aviv. Later the then Secretary of state Rex Tillerson suggested that it will happen “not earlier than three years, although it is rather optimistic”.
Later, on the 22nd of December 2017 Ukraine did not participate in the voting of the UN General Assembly by decision of the President of the United States Donald trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation at the UN explained that thus expressed the position that such a vote will not contribute to reducing tensions in the region. According to them, the status of Jerusalem must be resolved only through peaceful negotiations.
At the same time, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on non-recognition of decisions of the United States on the status of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, in the voting on Thursday, December 21, voted for the document 128 countries, against 9, another 35 abstained.
