The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on legal policy and justice supported the bill on amendments to the Constitution regarding the consolidation of Ukraine’s course to NATO and the European Union.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee Ruslan Knyazevich.
According to Kniazevych, the turnout of 20 members, 18 of which called for the consolidation of Ukraine’s course in the Constitution. He also ordered to transfer the corresponding bill for consideration in the session hall.
Earlier, NATO commented on the inclusion in the Constitution of Ukraine’s course for NATO membership. In particular, zamgenseka the NATO political Affairs and security policy Alejandro Alvargonzalez said that during the recent summit in Brussels, the Alliance has once again recognized and reaffirmed that the decisions of the Bucharest summit remains in force.
“But for the Constitution, it is an internal issue. It is purely your decision. I would not want to interfere in your internal Affairs”, – he said.
In addition, last week the Cabinet explained the practical benefit of fixing of a course in NATO and the EU in the Constitution.
