The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko predicts granting Ukraine macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the coming weeks.
He said this to journalists after a working visit to Finland on Thursday, November 8, reported Ukrainian news.
“In the next couple of weeks will be allocated 500 million euros in macro-financial assistance, assistance will be provided (programme) cooperation with the International monetary Fund”, – said Poroshenko.
He noted that the relevant agreement was reached during a conversation with the Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.
Earlier, the EU said that the release of the new macro-financial assistance program cannot continue until the resumption of IMF lending. In particular, the European Commission and the European external action service will verify compliance with Ukraine preconditions for the process and to publish its findings, and in the case of non-compliance of the conditions the Commission can suspend or cancel the payment.
