Elections in local communities of 10 regions of Ukraine, where the martial law, can not spend on time. This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy.

The VR speaker stressed that the elections in these ten regions will be announced after the martial law.
“When there was a question on the introduction of martial law, we had a discussion about how to conduct elections in those 10 areas where martial law. We are all in one position to hold the elections, regardless of martial law. We have held detailed consultations with the CEC, the Verkhovna Rada Committee and the legal Department of the Verkhovna Rada and came to a common understanding that it cannot be done. Because the electoral process has already been interrupted,” – said paruby.
Speaker of the Parliament noted that the CEC will announce elections soon after martial law.
“It (the election process – ed.) can’t come back to this same point, he needs to come back first. I think that there will be no difficulties and problems that after the expiration of martial law, the CEC process would be initiated, and in the next period of elections in communities in 10 regions will be announced and conducted in an open and democratic way,” he added.
Earlier, the President proposed the Parliament to hold elections in OTO during the martial law on December 23.
