The President of France Emmanuel macron said that member countries of the European Union who do not show solidarity in addressing the immigration crisis must leave the Schengen area.
About it reports “Tyzhden” referring to the American edition of Politico.
“Countries that do not want the extension of Frontex or solidarity, will leave the Schengen area. Countries that don’t want Europe, will no longer touch the structural funds”, – he said.
In particular, the French leader cited the Commission’s proposal on increasing the number of employees of the border agencies of the EU Frontex from 1600 to 10 000 people. At the same time, this plan was criticized, the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. In addition, Budapest has also refused to accept asylum-seekers under the scheme of relocation in the EU, despite the fact that the court ordered her to do it.
In turn, other countries of Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia, oppose the plan on the expansion of Frontex, but the comments of Macron seem to have had to do with Orban.
