French President Emmanuel Macron, at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Paris, bluntly announced a possible tightening against the Russian Federation of sanctions imposed in response to aggression against Ukraine.
The Frenchman told Putin that sanctions against Russia would be reinforced if the conflict in Ukraine’s Donbass region escalated.
The Russian leader did not like these words. In response, he hinted Macron that the sanctions would not force him to stop the aggression against Ukraine. In addition, Putin made a speech to journalists in which he campaigned for the abolition of all economic restrictions around the world.
Note that on Monday, May 29, in Paris, the first meeting of the new French President Emmanuel Macron with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin took place. Negotiations lasted almost 3 hours, during which, among other things, the Ukrainian question was also discussed.
