Latvia joined the group of EU countries that refused to sign the immigration Pact of the United Nations.

“Latvia became the latest of a number of EU countries that have abandoned the migration Pact of the United Nations, is not binding,” the statement reads, reports “UKRINFORM”.
Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland and the USA also refused to sign the agreement.
The Pact is expected to formally endorse at the summit, which will be held from 10 to 11 December in the Moroccan city of Marrakech. Optional migration UN international Covenant covers such issues as the protection of migrating people and their integration in a new country and returning them to their native country.
