In Russia they are trying to find compromising evidence on the well-known singer Laima Vaikule, who recently stated that she does not intend to perform in Crimea for any money.
The head of the working group on crime in the sphere of economy of the public council at the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow, Alexander Khaminsky, told Starhit that foreign artists must follow certain rules.
“Any foreign citizen working on the territory of the Russian Federation should register a simple work visa stating the purpose of the trip, submitting to the consular office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia a contract for performance with a specified amount of remuneration, as well as paying taxes from all fees, including cash,” he.
According to him, this also applies to free performances. At the moment, the authorities collect photos and videos of the singer’s performances in Russia in order to establish the fact of the violation of the law. If they prove that she was working illegally in the Russian Federation, she faces a fine and expulsion from the country.
“Maximum than risk Laima Vaikule – is the impossibility of performing in Russia in the future,” – said Khaminsky.
