Ukraine will not receive IMF tranche, or to obtain it in a minimum volume on a completely unfavorable conditions for us.
Comments about this correspondent of ГолосUA said political analyst Nikolai Spiridonov.
“The IMF has an unwritten rule – not really to lend to countries that have less than a year before the election. This means that either the IMF does not give loans in the near future or just going to twist arms for these loans,” – said the analyst.
According to N. Spiridonova, again, the Ukrainian government is harder to accept those loans before the election, because, as a rule, in the agreements appear, such as the increase of communal tariffs, cuts in certain social benefits to the population.
“That is basically the IMF requires not popular steps plus pumping of Ukrainian resources following the same summer. So before the election and it turns out the IMF is not particularly happy, and the Ukrainian side. For this reason, the agreement can be signed, but the trenches either did not expect or the minimum for unfavorable conditions for us”, – he said.
Recall, Ukraine started negotiations with the International monetary Fund (IMF) on a new agreement, which will replace the current programme of assistance in the amount of 17.5 billion dollars. This was announced by the representative of the President in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko.
While Lutsenko did not say what might be the terms of the agreement and when it will begin.
As noted, the new agreement will give Ukraine the opportunity to comply with the terms of the existing programme and should ensure debt payments peak which will be in the next year.
“This means that the IMF praised the reforms, the pace, the results of the reforms that we made in the framework of the program and is willing to give us another programme, the programme for developing countries,” she said.
