A columnist for the U.S. edition of the Wall Street Journal Gary Schmitt (Gary Schmitt) compared the murder of a Saudi journalist Jamal Hakuji with the poisoning of the former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal.
The article was published on the website of the American edition.
According to Schmitt, both of the incident was poorly planned and organized, with the result that immediately attracted the attention of the public to Moscow and Riyadh.
The journalist was amazed at the poor organization of poisoning Skrobala allegedly committed by Russian special services. He found no other explanation for the fact that the faces of the Russians got into the lenses of the cameras in the UK.
Columnist is confident that such incidents were pre-planned by Russia and Saudi Arabia, not only to neutralize opponents and to intimidate dissenters.
However, Schmitt blames the government of the United States, Britain and their allies, which poorly reacted to the incident. According to the columnist, they were just silent or a little intimidated intruders, even if the incidents occurred on their territory.
Also, recall that on 6 November, in Salisbury re-opened the Italian restaurant Zizzi, which was closed by the authorities after the assassination attempt on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia. Ten minutes after opening, the restaurant was already completely filled with visitors.
