What makes the Ukrainian government is trying to create a direct protectorate of the Patriarch of Constantinople on the territory of Ukraine.
Comments about this correspondent of ГолосUA said the people’s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Skoryk.
“Firstly, this Thomas yet. Secondly, I am “amused” that people who are not Orthodox to discuss this topic. As for the “UOC-KP” then say “UOC” does not exist. There is just “UOC”. There is no “MP” no. And what makes the Ukrainian government, now in addition to those two, will still be “of the UOC Patriarch of Constantinople”. Because that’s what they introduced, it obtained the direct protectorate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on the territory of Ukraine. I think that this will not happen. The main thing is that the state is doing and what a mistake, this is a direct interference in the Affairs of the Church. If the churches will unite, it must do themselves, without outside interference,” – said N. Skoryk.
According to him, and it doesn’t have to deal with public figures who use it for their election purposes.
“The Association of churches needs to happen in a way that no one is no doubt supported by all in Ukraine and abroad. Unfortunately, we do not see”, – said people’s Deputy of Ukraine Nestor Shufrych.
Recall President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the coming days will register in the Verkhovna Rada a bill which proposes to transfer permanent use of the St. Andrew’s Church to the Ecumenical Patriarch. This was stated at a meeting of the conciliation Council, the President’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko.
Lutsenko noted that it would be a symbolic gesture of “unity with mother-Church”.
“The President supports the desire to obtain an early Thomas. In solidarity with this process makes a symbolic gesture. The other day will be registered the bill, which President Petro Poroshenko proposes to transfer St. Andrew’s Church for permanent use to the Ecumenical Patriarch, a symbolic gesture that the Holy Andrew in his time baptized Ukraine. It will be a symbolic gesture of unity with mother-Church,” – said Lutsenko.
